After restarting the Alexa app, restart your Echo and then see if Alexa can detect it. Make sure your smartphone and Echo are on the same Wi-Fi network. If your smartphone and Alexa app are on different Wi-Fi networks, your Alexa won't' be able to detect an Echo or other Alexa-enabled device. Restart the Alexa-enabled device, and see if this solves the problem. Move the Echo closer to the router. Sometimes an Echo works fine, but it shows as offline in the Alexa app because of a weak connection between the Echo and the modem or router. Moving the Echo closer to the modem or router boosts the Wi-Fi signal.

What you’ll need: your new device, the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet, and your Spotify login info. Here’s how to connect Amazon Alexa to Spotify:
- First, download the Amazon Alexa app from the Google Play or App store, and follow the prompts to set up your new Amazon Echo or Echo Dot.
- Once connected, go to “Settings,” select “Music,” click “Link New Service,” and then tap “Spotify” to input your Spotify username and password.
- Select “Default Services” to set Spotify as your default music service—et voilà.
Bonus hack: Once Alexa is up and running, you can even listen to another user’s Spotify account. Picture preview app for mac. Download the Alexa app, open it, and link your Spotify account with these steps:
- Tap the menu in the top-left.
- Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
- Select Spotify, then Link account to Alexa.
- Enter your Spotify account details.
Recover spotify playlists free account. Set Spotify as your default service for music and podcasts so you don’t need to specify “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands to play music:
